Meteor shower visibility should peak early Wednesday. Here are 5 ways Chicagoans can maximize chances of ‘catching’ the show.

Early Wednesday and possibly Thursday, however, it will be possible to “catch” one of the universe’s most captivating sights. The Eta Aquariid meteor shower should peak around 3 a.m. Wednesday, boasting the potential for multiple meteor sightings per hour. The Eta Aquariids, known for their speed — the meteors can enter the atmosphere at nearly 150,000 mph — “can leave glowing ‘trains’ (incandescent bits of debris in the wake of the meteor) which last for several seconds to minutes,” according to NASA.
