Television presenter James May says he has purchased “half a pub” in a village close to his residence.
The Royal Oak in Swallowcliffe, close to Salisbury, Wiltshire, has been shut because the coronavirus lockdown began in March.
In a tweet, Mr May wrote: “I’ve purchased half a pub.”
Village resident Stephen Banas, stated: “The complete village is delighted. I wasn’t conscious that he was in the marketplace for shopping for a pub however I’m delighted.”
In 2012, native residents fought off a planning software to show the constructing right into a home.
It was later purchased by some native traders and reopened in 2015.
